At Pullman Rotorua, we proudly uphold the Tiaki Promise, a pledge to care for Aotearoa, its people, and its future. Guided by the values of manaakitanga (hospitality) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship), we invite our guests to travel with respect and care for this land of beauty and culture. From mindful use of resources to supporting local communities and preserving our natural environment, we are committed to creating meaningful experiences that protect and celebrate New Zealand’s heritage. Together, let us honour the Tiaki Promise — to tread lightly, act with kindness, and help safeguard Aotearoa for generations to come.

Tiaki – Care for New Zealand is a kaupapa Māori grounded in tikanga and mātauranga. We are guided by a Pou Tikanga and Paepae group of cultural advisors, with Tiaki designed to be culturally safe for all to use.
The Tiaki tohu represents four atua (spiritual beings) of Te Ao Māori: Ranginui, Papatūānuku, Tāne Mahuta, and Tangaroa. The tohu is tapu (sacred) so please avoid using the tohu on food or drink items, places where it can be stood or sat on, etc.
The Tiaki tohu is based on a karakia, composed by Dr. Vallance Smith and gifted to the tourism sector.
Ko Ranginui e tū iho nei
Ko Papatūānuku e takoto nei
Ko Tāne Mahuta nāna te ngahere
Ko Tangaroa nāna te moana, ki uta ko ngā awa me ngā roto
Ko Aotearoa tōku ūkaipō
Tihei, mauri ora!
